Privacy Policy

• Sports stats live on your device in a local database (game data downloaded from our sync servers).
• Account = Apple iCloud / CloudKit for optional preference sync. We do not run a separate username/password account system.
• We do not sell personal data.
• Spoiler-Free and Watch Mode keep scores hidden when you ask. We design analytics to avoid sending exact scores for hidden games.

On-device sports corpus

College football (and future sports) statistics are stored in SQLite on your device. Game data is downloaded from Cloudflare Workers + R2 (tape-sync-api). Source data is derived from CollegeFootballData.com and related public feeds. Redistribution of CFBD-derived data may require CFBD permission for public production use.

Preferences (local + optional iCloud)

Stored in UserDefaults and, when iCloud is available, mirrored to your private CloudKit database (iCloud.com.northpeaklabs.ScoutSports):

• Follow: primary and followed teams
• SpoilerPref: Spoiler-Free on/off
• WatchMode: per-game hide list
• AppPref: onboarding, game-day alert toggles, muted teams, Include FCS

This data stays in your iCloud private database; we do not read it on our servers.

Push notifications

If you enable game-day alerts, the app registers an APNs device token with our sync API so we can deliver kickoff, halftime, and final notifications for teams you follow. Tokens are stored only to deliver those alerts. Debug builds register as sandbox; TestFlight / App Store builds register as production.

Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

If a TelemetryDeck App ID is configured, the app may send anonymous usage signals (for example share, oracle ask, widget open, delta applied, watch mode, spoiler toggle). Signals are privacy-preserving (no email, no name, no advertising ID sold to brokers). Exact scores for Spoiler-hidden games are not intended to be transmitted.

Purchases

Tape Plus (if offered) uses Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment; we receive subscription status via StoreKit APIs, not your full payment card details.

Live scores

Home may fetch live/upcoming scoreboard data via our sync API (CFBD proxy) or an unofficial ESPN public JSON fallback. Requests are short-cached. Spoiler-Free still hides scores in the UI.

Widgets & Live Activities

Home-screen widgets and Live Activities read a snapshot from the App Group group.northpeaklabs.Scout. Content is generated on-device from your primary team and local game data. Live Activity scores respect Spoiler-Free / Watch Mode before publish.

• No social login (Google, Facebook, etc.)
• No Firebase Auth user accounts
• No contacts, photos, or microphone access for core features
• No precise location requirement

We do not sell personal information. Infrastructure providers (Apple CloudKit, Cloudflare Workers/R2, TelemetryDeck if enabled) process data only to operate the app.

• Local game data and preferences remain until you delete the app or clear data.
• CloudKit private records persist under your Apple ID until you delete them or the app's container data.
• Device push tokens remain while alerts are enabled; unregistering or deleting the app stops delivery.
• TelemetryDeck retention follows TelemetryDeck's policies.

The Tape is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app if you are under 13.

• Toggle Spoiler-Free and Watch Mode in Settings.
• Sign out of iCloud on the device to stop CloudKit sync (local cache remains).
• Delete the app to remove on-device data.
• Leave TelemetryDeck App ID unset (or remove it) to disable analytics signals.
